Barbara Symmons, Toronto Psychotherapist
Having practised as a psychotherapist for over 30 years I know that psychotherapy is an interpersonal, relational intervention used by a trained psychotherapist to aid clients in problems of living. This usually includes increasing individual sense of well-being and reducing subjective discomforting experience. Psychotherapists employ a range of techniques based on experiential relationship building, dialogue, communication and behaviour change that are designed to improve the mental health of a client, or to improve group relationships such as in a family.

As a psychotherapist practicing in Toronto, I work through barriers: stress, depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship issues, grief and bereavement, remarriage and step-families, with my clients and help them build self-esteem and self-efficacy through self-actualization.
