Mindfulness for Wellbeing Now or Don’t Believe Everything you Think
Barbara Symmons

Mindfulness is intentional focused awareness: paying attention on purpose in the present moment, non-judgmentally. Mindfulness is a complete discipline, aimed at deep self-reflection, self-knowledge and liberation from confirming views of self, others and the world. Mindfulness is a way of taking charge of your life, using an already present deep internal resource for learning, growing and healing. Mindfulness in the workplace assists participants to utilize their innate abilities to learn how to:

* reduce stress
* increase stability in the midst of complex or highly charged situations
* enhance clarity and creative thinking
* improve communication skills
* cultivate leadership and teamwork
* improve overall effectiveness in the workplace

This session is a synthesis of a 6-class Program which has been successfully run over the last two years. Participants will rotate through short meditations and theoretical discussions which are the underpinnings of Mindfulness. A pre-workshop survey will be administered.
